FAQ
Questions people ask first
Anything missing, put it in the waitlist form or write to hello@exactsay.com.
Can the other person tell?
No. Nothing joins the meeting and nothing is drawn over it. The card is on a phone lying face-up on your desk, which reads as glancing at notes. Screen shares never include it.
Will it write me a script?
No, on purpose. A card is a headline and at most three bullets of about five words each. Scripts get read out loud and sound read out loud. Bullets are one glance and then it's your words.
How fast is it?
Typically under 1.5 seconds from the end of their sentence to the card on your phone, and under 3 seconds at the slow end.
When does a card appear?
An answer card when the other side asks a question, raises an objection or shows a buying signal. Never on your turns, and never so often that it becomes a distraction. When they make a point instead, you get a few questions to ask next. Small talk produces nothing.
Can it help when I'm the one asking the questions?
Yes. When the other side makes a point instead of asking, the phone suggests up to three questions to ask them next, in your voice and ready to say aloud. They build on what was just said and on what you want from the call: test a claim, get a number, name or date, surface a risk, or move to your next step. Investor calls, vendor reviews and interviews work this way. You can switch them off per call on the Live call page.
Does it fact-check what they say?
Not yet. Fact checks on what they claim are on the roadmap: a card with what they said, what your call context and the record say, and the arithmetic on any number. Today it answers from your call context and suggests questions to ask, which is often the fastest way to test a claim.
Can I turn the questions off?
Yes. There is a switch on the Live call page, per call, and it covers the ASK cards. Answer cards keep coming either way.
What if I want a card anyway?
Tap Cue now on the phone and it drafts a card from the recent conversation, whoever spoke last.
What if the answer isn't in my notes?
The card says NOT IN CONTEXT rather than guessing. Cards only use your call context: what you wrote about you, your product, your numbers and your answers to objections. Any figure that doesn't match your facts is flagged with a ⚠ so you know not to say it.
How long does a card stay on screen?
It dims after a short while so the phone isn't a distraction. Tap it to bring it back. Earlier cards stay in a list below the current one.
What if the phone loses wifi for a moment?
The phone page reconnects on its own and shows any card it missed. The Live call page does the same on the laptop.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It's two web pages. The Live call page runs in Chrome on the laptop, the phone page runs in any modern browser on the phone. No extension, no desktop app, nothing in an app store.
Which meeting tools does it work with?
Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and anything else that plays audio in a Chrome tab. The Zoom and Teams desktop apps work with whole-screen audio. Setup per platform.
Does it work with headphones?
Yes. Tab audio and whole-screen audio are captured inside Chrome before they reach any output device, so speakers, wired or Bluetooth headphones make no difference. Headphones actually help, because your microphone no longer hears the other side.
Does it work with the Zoom or Teams desktop app?
Yes, on Chrome 141 or newer with macOS 14.2 or newer, or on Windows. Choose whole-screen audio on the Live call page, pick Entire Screen in Chrome's share dialog and tick Share system audio. Everything the computer plays is captured, so turn on Do Not Disturb.
Which languages?
English first. Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch also work, with slightly slower cards. You pick the language per call.
Can I use a laptop instead of a phone for the cards?
Yes. The phone page works in a laptop tab too, for example on a second screen. The phone is just the version nobody on the call can see.
Can I change the call context during a call?
Yes. Pick a different call context on the Live call page and the next card uses it. The transcript carries on in the same call.
Where do the transcripts and summaries go?
Every call keeps its transcript with speaker labels, every card the phone showed, and a summary of questions, objections, commitments and next actions, in your workspace. Add the summary to the prospect's call context and the next call starts from it.
Who else sees the audio?
Only the transcription and AI providers that make the cards and summary, and neither uses your data to train models under the terms we use them on. They are named in the privacy policy. The public pages use Google Analytics to count visits; the pages you use during a call do not. There are no advertising trackers.
Is it legal to transcribe my calls?
It depends where you and the other party are. Some places require everyone's consent, some require only yours. ExactSay is a tool; using it lawfully is your responsibility, exactly as it would be for a notepad or a recorder.
What does it cost?
You buy hours of calls when you need them, from $2 an hour, shared by your whole team. No subscription, and every account starts with 4 free hours with no card. See pricing.
How do I get access?
Join the waitlist with your work email and where your calls are. ExactSay is in private use today and invitations go out as platforms are ready.
